, Gaël Morel is now set to grace the Official Selection with Vivre, mourir et renaître scheduled to enjoy its world premiere within the Cannes Première line-up of the 77th Cannes Film Festival (running 14 – 25 May).

This will be the 8th fiction feature by the filmmaker who previously signed his name to Under Another Sky (awarded the FIPRESCI Prize in Toronto 2002), Three Dancing Slaves [+see also:

), the story follows Emma who loves Sammy who loves Cyril who loves him back. What could have been a light-hearted dalliance at the end of the last century is soon obliterated by the arrival of Aids. And just as they’re prepare themselves for the worst, each of the character’s lives take an unexpected turn…

Vivre, mourir et renaître is produced by Michèle Halberstadt and Laurent Pétin on behalf of ARP Sélection (who are also steering the film’s release in French cinemas on 25 September), in co-production with Arte France Cinéma. The feature film is pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, and enjoys further support from the Ile-de-France region.
